Mechanic Course

MTS is the first technical training school in the world of racing cars and motorcycles. At the end of the didactic part, the students of the Moto Racing Mechanic Course can participate in “training on the job” with nationally and internationally renowned teams to immediately put the acquired knowledge into practice. After the course 80% of our students on average start working in the world of Motorsport.

The course focuses on both the technical aspects and the methodological and practical characteristics of the work of a racing motorcycle mechanic. Under the guidance of Luigi Tondo, various issues will be discussed concerning the disassembly and reassembly of the fork and shock absorber, the set-ups, the analysis of the drivers’ problems, the management of the chassis according to the changes made to the engine and the electronic management of the engine, the tires and the final transmission.

There is also talk of Wiring, management of the electronic control unit, engine mapping and strategies, problems with related resolutions and telemetry are also discussed. With the support of Ambrogio Arzuffi, MTS teacher and official mechanic of the Yamaha Team, we talk about the engine: disassembly and reassembly of the engine and of every single element, with references to its preparation, analysis and solutions to the related problems.

The entire Moto Racing Mechanic course is supervised by Marco Ventura, Chief Mechanic of Ducati Moto GP Team. Besides the technical subjects, another equally important one is introduced: the study of the psychological and emotional management of the mechanic in relation to the pilot.
